Alvin D. MacNaughton

Alvin D. MacNaughton 1932 - 2009 Miramichi - Alvin Duncan MacNaughton, husband of Harriet MacNaughton, of Henderson Street, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, early Thursday morning, March 5, 2009, at the age of 76. Born in Chatham, on May 4, 1932, he was the son of the late Sinclair and Willemina (Lockerbie) MacNaughton. He was an accountant by profession and a former employee of Geo. Burchill and Sons Ltd., W.S. Loggie Co. Ltd., Wm Gregan Trucking Ltd., Northeast Machine Works Ltd. He was a member of St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi; a Member and former Treasurer of Session; member of the Men's Choir; a member of the Community kitchen program; a member of the Miramichi Golf and Country Club; a member of the Miramichi Chapter of the Highland Society; a member and former treasurer of the Riverside Cemetery Committee. He is survived by his wife, the former Harriet Jardine; one daughter, Shelley Lovely (Darrell), of Fredericton; one son, Paul MacNaughton (Nicola), of Riverview; five grandchildren, Matthew and Becca MacNaughton, Mikayla, Jason and Ashley Lovely; two sisters, Leona MacLean (Harrison), of Black River Bridge, Elizabeth Godfrey (William), of Moncton; one brother, Fred MacNaughton (Joan), of Riverview; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant brother, Samuel Emmett MacNaughton. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Friday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Andrews United Church, Wellington Street, Miramichi, on Saturday, March 7, 2009, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Miramichi, later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Riverside Cemetery Fund or St.. Andrews United Church, would be appreciated by the family.
