(Glen) M. Cleveland Glendenning

(Glen) M. Cleveland Glendenning 1924 - 2009 Miramichi - Glendenning (Glen) Malcolm Cleveland, husband of Elizabeth (Betty) Cleveland, of Murray Street, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Saturday morning, march 14, 2009, at the age of 84. Born in Saint John, on May 11, 1924, he was the son of the late Percy E. and Caroline E. (Hannan) Cleveland. He was a retired member of the Canadian Armed Forces as well as retired civilian employee of the Dept. of National defense, at the former CFB Chatham. He was an adherent of St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving in the Atlantic Theater with the Royal Canadian Navy and was a member of Branch # 3, Royal Canadian Legion, Miramichi as well as Branch # 254, R.C.A.F.A. He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Speight; three sons, Dan Cleveland, of New Glasgow, N.S., Dennis Hyde (Angie), of Chalk River, Ont., and Kenneth Cleveland (Marthe), of South Oromocto Lake; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Monday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Andrews United Church, on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, in Saint John, later in the spring. Please note, members of Branch # 3, Royal Canadian Legion, are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Monday evening, at 7:30 pm, for a Veterans Service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
