Jacqueline Ferguson

Jacqueline Ferguson 1938 - 2009 Jacqueline Pellerin Ferguson, 71 of Bouctouche has passed away on Thursday April 6, 2009 at the Moncton City Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was married to the late Douglas Ferguson (2005). Born in Moncton on March 22, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Francis and the late Amanda (Saulnier) Pellerin. Jackie was the co-founder, past director and honorary lifetime member of Toronto's Jean Tweed Treatment Center for women with alcohol and drug addiction. On leaving the center, she was employed as Employee Assistance Coordinator for Shell Canada. On returning to the Maritimes she continued to provide services to Shell and with Corporate Health (Halifax) provided services to Marine Atlantic, Fisheries and Oceans as well as major financial Institutions. In the mid eighties she served as President of the Moncton Multiple Sclerosis Society, and was presented with the award for the top branch in Atlantic Canada. She was past member of various associations relating to her work. The last twelve years, she was employed with Community and Corrections/Department of Public Safety as Victim Services coordinator. Jackie will be deeply missed by her three sisters Claudette Léger (Clarence) of Moncton, Fleurette Wilson of Calgary, and Fedora Arsenault (Léo) of Greenville, N.H., her four brothers, Roger (Marie), of Toronto, Leslie (Aline), Gerald, and Nelson (Judy) all of Notre-Dame, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased six sisters Pearl, Lelia, Lorraine, Noella, Yvonne, and Georginette, and four brothers, Donald, Raymond, Roy, and Walter. Visitation will be held at the Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l'église, Bouctouche on Monday April 6 from 2 to 3:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church on Monday April 6, 2009 at 4:00 pm. Interment will be in the Notre-Dame du Sacré-Coeur Cemetery, Notre-Dame in the spring.
