Geraldine "Gerry" Elizabeth Nelson 1923 - 2009 Geraldine "Gerry" Elizabeth Nelson 85, of Stoney Creek passed away peacefully on Friday, May 8th, 2009 at the Moncton Hospital. Gerry was born in Moncton on August 17th, 1923 the daughter of the late Frederick and Dorothy (Haynes) Corcoran. She was retired from the Civil Service. Gerry was a member of the St. Mary's Anglican Church, Hillsborough, she was very active in her church and played the organ for several years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star- Fidelity Chapter 36, Riverview and was Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Brach # 32, Hillsborough Ladies Auxiliary. Gerry was a truly special lady , she had a great smile and will be remembered for her kind and caring ways. She was like a grandmother to all children, known throughout the community as Nanny Nelson. Gerry thought the world of her great grandchildren and they affectionately called her "GG" they were her pride and joy. Over the past four years, she has really missed the love of her life, Jack, it gives her family great comfort to know she is now reunited with her loving husband and they are together. "Until We Meet Again". She will be deeply missed by her three cherished daughters, Carolyn Ryll (Eric) of Nanaimo, BC, Lynn Beals (Gary) of Stoney Creek, Sharron Magnussen (Bjorn) of Ski, Norway; her treasured grandchildren, Jackie Poirier (Paul) and Amber Glavin (Tony) both of Halifax; her precious great grandchildren, Mitchell and Lyric also by several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; her sister, Barbara Johnson (John) of Dieppe. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews and by all of her husband Jack's family. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Jack Nelson, a daughter, Patricia; brothers, Fred and John; sister, Margaret; and step grandson, Shane Ryll. She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at the St. Mary's Anglican Church, Hillsborough on May 14th, 2009 at 11:00am with Rev. Rob Salloum officiating. Interment will be held in the Mountain View Cemetery, Lower Cape. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends at the Hillsborough Legion for further sharing of memories and for refreshments. FAMILY FLOWERS ONLY PLEASE.
