David Niles 1923 - 2009 Cap-Pelé - David Niles, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 11 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Cap-Pelé on August 12, 1923, he was the son of the late Willie and Emma (Thibodeau) Niles. David was a member of the Cap-Pelé church choir for 30 years and a pioneer member of the Cap-Pelé Fire Dept. from 1965 to 1977. David is survived by his wife, Aline (Leger); two sons, Maurice Niles (Hélène) and Marcel Niles, both of Cap-Pelé; one brother, Gérard Niles (Louisa) of Cap-Pelé; three sisters, Eva Monk (late Everett) of Calgary AB, Marguerite Brine (Edward) of Cap-Pelé and Olive Landry (Dismas) of Shediac.; three grandchildren, Paul, Samuel and François. He was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur and Charles and one sister Edmée. There will be no visitation as requested by the family. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 15 at the Ste-Thérèse d'Avila Roman Catholic Church in Cap-Pelé at 11 am.
