Philip Bernard Power

of Jerseyside (formerly of Pond Head Argentia) died peacefully August 17, 2008 at the Health Sciences Center at the age of 74. "Mr. Fix-it" was a long-time member of UA Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 740. Philip will be remembered as a proud father and grandfather. He was a wonderful storyteller, an avid reader and a lover of nature, world history, song and verse, jiggs dinner and a "drop of stuff". Predeceased by parents Elizabeth and Bernard Power, brothers Martin, Michael, Ronald and baby Ronald, sisters baby Anne and Anne Lafrance and brothers-in-law Roger Lafrance, Bill McCauley and George Clarke. Leaving to mourn loving wife of 51 years, Patricia (nee Bruce), sons Wayne (Elizabeth), Tim (Kim), Terry (Cherie), Bruce (Shyla) daughters Yvonne Hartley (Dennis), Janet and Rhonda (Michael Williams). Grandchildren: Matthew, Emilie, Philip, Marcus, John, Caleb and Jacob. Brothers, Eugene (Anne), Edward (Olive), Dermott (Rita) and James (Aggie) sisters Rita McCauley and Rose Clarke, sisters-in-law Shirley, Madeline and Dorothy Power. Cousin and buddy "Tar Mick" Power as well as many other relatives and friends. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 19th from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial from Sacred Heart Church Placentia on Wednesday August 20, at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at the Dermott McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast Placentia.
