Kenneth "Ken" B. Farris Kenneth "Ken" B. Farris, 87, of Moncton, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, May 24, 2009. Born in Sussex, he was the son of the late Beverly and Eva (Gosline) Farris. Ken was retired from Hobart Canada with over 30 years service. He was a member of St. George's Anglican Church, of which he served in various capacities in past years. He was a member of Moncton Legion Branch #6, former member of the William Ling Lawn Bowling League and Veteran of WWII, having served overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy. Besides lawn bowling, he was an excellent woodcarver, enjoyed gardening and with his wife, entertaining friends and spending time at the family cottage in Cape Brule; but first and foremost was quality time with his family and friends. Ken will be sadly missed by his daughters, Susan Farris, Moncton, Linda Farris (Ernie Carroll), Geary; son, Bruce (Gizele), Moncton; special nieces, Bev and Sharon Colburne and special brother-in-law, Kenny Colburne, all of Moncton; grandchildren, Melissa, Shaun, Dereck, Morgan; great grandchildren, Jordan, Madison; several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Anne S. (Fairweather) (2004); son, Bill (1999); daughter, Nancy (2007); brothers, Loran, Albert, Uriel; sisters, Dorothy, Barbara, Edna, Peggy, Betty. No visitation by personal request. Moncton Legion Branch #6 Memorial Service, Thursday, May 28, 2009, 11:00 am, followed immediately by a Celebration of Life Service, conducted by Rev. Chris VanBuskirk, at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995). Reception following the service.
