Mary Celine McKie
Mary Celine McKie 1921-2009 Miramichi, NB - It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Mary Celine McKie on the 29th of May 2009 after a brave battle with colon cancer. Born on the 3rd of June, 1921 in St. Louis de Kent, she was the daughter of the late Vital and Marie Rose (Guimond) Fontaine. She was also predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth James, a son Ray James and a daughter Hazel Constance (Thibodeau). She spent most of her life as a devoted housewife and as a seamstress, initially in the private sector and then under contract with the Canadian Armed Forces. She also worked in other various jobs at the former base of Chatham. She is survived by three sisters, Rosanne (Albert) Babineau of St. Louis de Kent, Margaret (Neil) Gosselin of Leominster, Massachusetts, USA and Domethilde Doucet of Richibucto. She is also survived by two brothers, Marcel (Stella) Fontaine of Little Aldouane and Germaine Fontaine of Rexton. In addition, two sons, Brian of Miramichi, Kevin (Darlene) of Fort McMurray, and a daughter; Adeline Richard of Richibucto. A celebration of her life will be conducted at St. Michael's Basilica in Chatham (Miramichi) at 9:00 am on the 5th of June, 2009. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Thompson's Funeral Home in Richibucto.
