92, New Waterford Germaine Matthys, 92, formerly of 46 Queen St., Scotchtown, passed away peacefully, November 26, 2008 at Maple Hill Manor where she resided for the last 10 years, with family and loving friends by her side. Born in New Waterford, she was a daughter of the late Archie and Victoria (Deruelle) LeMoine. She was a member of the Parish of St. Leonard, St. Michael Church, River Ryan. Germaine was a generous woman with a kind word for everyone. Her main love was her family. Surviving are son, Emile 'Brother' (Marie) Matthys, River Ryan; brother,Victor (Theresa) LeMoine, Scotchtown; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Emile Matthys; a son, Michael; daughter, Mary; brothers, Paul, Archie, Freddie; sisters, Victoria, Angel, Melvina, and Elaine. There will be no visitation. A funeral mass to celebrate Germaine's life will be held Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Parish of St. Leonard, St. Michael Church, River Ryan with Fr. Doug MacDonald officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Gaul Centre. All are welcome. Donations in her memory may be made to Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford.
