Elizabeth Morrison

95, Mira We the family, are saddened to announce the death of Elizabeth Morrison at her home, on November 28, 2008. A loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be sadly missed. Elizabeth grew up in Dominion, lived many years in Bridgeport, before moving to Hornes Road, Mira. She was a member of Chalmers United Church, Dominion, adherent of Union Presbyterian Church, Mira Ferry. At Chalmers, she taught Mission Band, cubs and C.G.I.T and was active in Missionary Society and UCW. She was a charter member of the Glace Bay Auxiliary of the Cove and a life member of the MacLeod AMS. She enjoyed baking and sewing. All her life she selflessly and gladly put the needs of family and others before herself. In the past few years she had lots of happy hours quilting with her "piecemaker" friends in Louisbourg and was a proud life member of the " Ocean Waves" quilting society. Elizabeth's greatest joy was her family she is survived by her daughters; Erla (Dean) Wenborne, Alban , Ont. , Lorna (Allan) Macdonald, Sydney; son Fraser (Jean) Morrison, Mira; son-in-law William Horne, Sydney; grandchildren Linda (Gary) Henderson, Lori (Jamie) Santi, Katriona, Sara and Neil Macdonald, Lisa Morrison, Rebecca (Arthur) Demazieres and Kurt Horne; great-grandchildren Jeffrey and Collin Henderson and Jillian and Julia Santi, and sister Helen Horne, Mira. She was predeceased by her parents Hugh and Katie (MacCuish) MacNeil; husband Earl in 1991; daughter Helen Lynne Horne in 1987; brothers Dan, Murdock, Norman , Lloyd, Donald , Franklyn, and Fraser; sisters Katherine, Annie, and Amelia. Visitation will be held Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Sydney Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will take place Monday 3pm at Union Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jackie MacDonald officiating. Special thanks to Palliative Care, VON, and Home Care , and to her special "angel " Heather Parsons, for their excellent, tender loving care.
