83, North Sydney It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, Nellie Bona, a resident of Mapleview Drive, North Sydney, on Thursday November 27, 2008, at home. Born in Lublinicz, Poland, She was a daughter of the late Dan and Anastasia (Sudyn) Fecio. Nellie emigrated to Canada with her parents and settled in Manitoba where they farmed for many years. It was there that she would meet her husband Don, and raise her family. Upon his retirement, Don moved his family back to his home, Cape Breton, where they would settle in North Sydney. In earlier years Nellie was an avid angler, making many fishing trips with her husband, and was a member of Our Lady Of Sorrows Church, North Sydney. She is survived by her son Jack (Valerie) of North Sydney; a brother William (Cathy), of Manitoba; a sister Mary (Johnny) Ruta, Manitoba; two great grandchildren, Jeremy and Shelby; and several nieces and nephews. Nellie was predeceased by her husband Don as well as her grandson Don. There will be no visitation by request. A funeral mass will be held Monday 10:00 a.m. from St. Joseph Church, North Sydney, with Rev. Jim Attwood officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the NS Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, North Sydney.
