ESTABROOKS, AGNES ADELAIDE (1918-2009) - The death of Agnes Adelaide Estabrooks, 91, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, July 1st, 2009. Born in Woodpoint, she was a daughter of the late Amos and Daisy (Read) Ward. Agnes enjoyed sewing, quilting and knitting. She was a member of the Salvation Army Home League and worked at the Drew Nursing Home for thirteen years. Agnes will be sadly missed by four daughters, Barbara (Gordon) Beal, Sally Orava, Connie (George) Carter and Peggy Estabrooks; four sons, Joseph Jr. (Kathy), Keith of Mount Uniacke, NS, Ronnie (Brenda) and Bryce of William's Lake, BC; seventeen grandchildren, Karen, Kathy, Darlene, Danny, Todd, April, Holly, Katie, Daniel, Timmy, Tammy, Kelley, Luke, Shannon, Heidi, Jason and Jana; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley White of Smith's Cove, NS; a brother, Donald Ward, of British Settlement, NB; two sisters-in-law, Kay and Madeline Ward; and Maggie The Cat. Besides her parents, Agnes was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Joseph Estabrooks; one son, Allen; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six brothers and three sisters. The remains have been entrusted into the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home (70 Bridge Street, Sackville, 364-1300) from where visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Thursday, July 2nd, 2009. Pastor Hal Lowther will officiate a funeral service for Agnes at 2pm on Friday, July 3, 2009 at the funeral home.
