Brenda Anne Grant

1955-2008 Glace Bay Well known, well loved, singer/songwriter, Brenda Anne Grant of Glace Bay passed away on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008 at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born in New Waterford, she grew up in Glace Bay and lived for a number of years in Halifax. She was the daughter of Mary Rose (Bates) and the late John 'Jack' Grant. During the past 15 years, she lived in Glace Bay employed as a medical secretary, most recently with Dr. Mark Ellerker. Brenda was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. Her humour, smile and faith filled songs will be celebrated and remembered by all who knew her. Brenda will be deeply missed by her mother, Mary Rose; loving daughters, Emily and Megan Grant, all of Glace Bay; brother, John (Maureen), Wolfville; sister, Jacqueline Grant, Glace Bay; nieces, Ember, Shasta, Kiara Grant; nephews, Logan and Parker Grant, Daryl, Michael and Paul Bramwell; many aunts, uncles and special friends. Thanks especially to Michelle, Sharon 'Sha', Irene 'Soup' and Dr. Carol Boutilier for their incredible support and care. There will be no visitation for Brenda. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008 at St. Anne's Church, Glace Bay with Fr. Leo Boone officiating.
