VAN BUSKIRK, DORIS EVELYN - Formerly of Brunswick St., Riverview, passed away with her loving family at her side on Friday, July 3rd, 2009 at the Salvation Army Lakeview Manor in Riverview at the age of 80. Born in Coverdale Parish, Albert Co. October 2nd, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret (Armour) Prosser. She was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church. Doris was a former employee of The T. Eaton Co. with 20 years' service upon their closure. She was a life member of the Air Force Veterans Club. She was an avid bowler and she also enjoyed knitting. However, her greatest love was her family and her grandchildren. A loving and caring mother, nanny, sister and aunt, she will be sadly missed by her daughters, Sandra (Larry) Hambrook of Calhoun, NB, and Gail (Andrew) Gallant of Berry Mills, NB; her son Brian Van Buskirk (Carolyn) of Riverview; her adoring grandchildren Caitlin and Arianna Hambrook; sisters Eileen Arnold and Esther Prosser both of Moncton; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Van Buskirk in 1977. Visitation is at the Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview on Monday, July 6th, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm. The funeral service will be held at The Riverview Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, July 7th, 2009 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Jonathan Gorham officiating. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations made in Doris's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of South East NB or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by her family.
