LANDRY, JEANITA - Jeanita Landry, 76, of Shediac, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2009, at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Shediac NB, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Nelida (Maillet) Doiron. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with the Villa Providence and the Shediac Lobster Shop. Before her illness, Jeanita was an avid gardener and lawn bowler. She had a passion for music, the theatre and good mystery novels. Every fall, she would get itchy feet and go on one of her trips across Canada, the USA or Europe. In more recent years, she enjoyed going out to lunch with her friends and playing "trente-et-un" every night with the gang at the "75". Her family's gatherings and celebrations brought her great joy. She is survived by her five children: Patricia of Shediac, Stephen (Solange) of Dieppe, Nancy Colpitts (Brent) of Oromocto, Robert (Helene) of Riverview, Karen of Moncton; seven grandchildren: Cathy, Hubert, Julie, Scott, Sandy, Jean-Paul, Dominic. She was predeceased by her husband, Jean-Paul (Buddy) Landry, in 1990. In keeping with Jeanita's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation arrangements under the direction of Frenette Funeral Home, Shediac (532-3297). Interment will be in the Saint Joseph Cemetery in Shediac. In Jeanita's memory, donations to the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada (NB chapter) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB would be appreciated by the family.
