MACDOUGALL, RUSSELL - 1924 - 2009 - Russell MacDougall of Moncton passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, July 21, 2009. Born in Lewisville son of the late Charles and Francis (Woods) MacDougall and husband of the late Merle (Hopper) MacDougall. Russell was a Veteran of WWII with the 8th Hussars where he served from 1942 - 1945. Member of Moncton Legion Branch #6 as well as a member of the Moncton Horseshoe Club. Liked bowling and playing darts as well as an avid fisherman. Russell will be sadly missed by his children: Faye (Ron) Oakley Stephen (Pat), Tom (Florine), Susan MacDougall (Art Colpitts), Ann (Stephen) Chapman, Eric (Anne), Mike (Sandy), and Ruth (Warren) Ross as well as 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Marion Malcolm and several nieces, nephews and one special nephew Fraser MacDougall who resided with him. Besides his parents and his loving wife Merle, Russell was predeceased by his great grandchild Megan Oakley, five brothers and one sister. In respect with Russell's wishes there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held from Harrisville United Protestant Church, Landry Street (Harrisville), Moncton on Friday, July 24th, 2009 at 2:00 pm followed by a reception in the church hall. Remembrances in Russell's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, IWK Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice.
