MACDONALD, ATCHISON J. R. - 1921-2009 - Black River Bridge - Atchison James Ronald MacDonald, husband of Jean MacDonald, of the South Black River Road, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at the age of 88. Born in Black River Bridge, on February 22, 1921, he was the son of the late Albert E. and Wilamina (MacDonald) MacDonald. He was a farmer and labourer and was an adherent of St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Lobban; one daughter, Carol Duplessie (Emile), of Black River Bridge; two sons, Dale MacDonald (Mary), of Manilla, Ont. and Todd MacDonald (Margaret) of Oshawa, Ont.; two sisters, Lylla Ripley, of Orano, Ont. and Louise Daws (Vincent), of Peterborough, Ont.; two brothers, Emerson MacDonald, of Black River Bridge and Leonard MacDonald (Laura), of Black River Bridge; four grandchildren, Nicole, Tanya, Angie, Jessie; five great grandchildren, Devon, Destiny, Trinity, Samantha, Courtney; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Gary E. MacDonald; one grandson, Joey MacDonald; three sisters, Marjorie Grant, Jessie Russell, Evangeline Ross; two brothers, Tom and Lloyd MacDonald. Visitations will be held from Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Sunday only, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge, on Monday, July 27, 2009, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. David Cleveland.
