
HELEN LOUISE WORTMAN
WORTMAN, HELEN LOUISE - Helen Louise Wortman passed peacefully away on July 21, 2009 at her daughter's home in Woodstock, NB, with her family at her side. Born on March 21, 1915 in Moncton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Lucinda (Berry) Bursey. Helen trained as an Obstetrical Nurse in Halifax, and together with her late husband, Curtis Wortman raised their family in Moncton. They moved to the Fredericton area in 1960. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years. Besides her parents and husband, Helen was predeceased by her three siblings, Bertha Adsett (Lawrence), George Bursey (Zeta) and Florence Bursey. Helen is survived by her son, George Wortman (Janet) of Richmond Hill, ON; her daughters, Karon Scott (Alton) of Woodstock, NB and Florence Sullivan (Barry) of Fredericton, NB; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on July 23, 2009 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Doug Adamson officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Laurie Wortman, Jason Keys, Kenneth Prosser, John Grantham, Lloyd Gordon and Jonathan Hillman. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Calvary Baptist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
