
DONALD CHAPMAN BACON
BACON, DONALD CHAPMAN - It is with sadness the family of Donald Chapman Bacon age 91, of Riverview, N.B. and formerly of Amherst announce his passing on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Upper Nappan, he was a son of the late Harry and Nora (Chapman) Bacon. Don worked for CNR as a Locomotive Engineer in Moncton for 39 years until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling and trailering and had a great passion for his dogs. Don was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, the former Kathleen Shipley; one daughter, Cynthia Herron of Prosser Brook, N.B.; one grandson, Sean of Prosser Brook; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Don was predeceased by one daughter, Susan Lynn in infancy; and one brother, Vincent. His remains are resting at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902-667-9906) with visiting on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Rev. Byron Corkum will officiate. Interment will follow in the Amherst Cemetery. Donations in Don's memory may be made to the charity of your choice. www.campbells-amherst.ca
