MARION UNDERHILL

UNDERHILL, MARION - The death of Marion Underhill of 141 Rennie Road, Miramichi, wife of the late Gerald Underhill occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Marion was born in Blackville, a daughter of Wilfred & Lucy (Gionet) Doiron on December 18, 1922. She is survived by three children, Ron and his wife June of Riverview, Nancy and her husband Art of Hampton and Paul and his wife Tanya of Chatham, her sister Jacqueline Richard; six grandchildren, Jason & Jocelyn, Amy & Timothy, Jeremy & Josh and six great grandchildren; one half brother Douglas; three half sisters, Aurora, Blanche and Lilly. Besides her parents and her husband she was predeceased by her brother Ray Doiron. Marion had served in the CWAC Corp during WW11 and worked in JAG branch in Ottawa until her discharge. She worked for Eaton's Catalogue Sales in 1959, during the Christmas rush and where she stayed for the next 17 years working her way to Manager and Supervisor. She did a lot of volunteer work with various committees including Religious Education and CWL. She loved music and was a devoted member of St Mary's Senior Choir. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was excited to share their many achievements and milestones. She treasured her many friends, was an avid bridge player and was always "a real lady". Mrs. Marion Theresa Underhill is resting at Davidson's Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, Miramichi, with visitation on Wednesday August 12, from 2-4 & 7-9. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday August 13, 2009, at 11 a.m. from St Mary's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Tom Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot of the church cemetery. At the request of the family donations to Canadian Cancer Society or a memorial of ones choice would be appreciated.
