BERTHA M. MACDONALD

MACDONALD, BERTHA M. - 1924-2009 - Miramichi - Bertha Mae MacDonald, widow of the late Harold A. MacDonald, of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, and formerly of Black River Bridge, passed away at her residence, on Monday, August 31st, 2009, at the age of 84. Born in Little Branch, on September 16th, 1924, she was the daughter of the late George and Katherine (Sweezey) Fowlie. She was a homemaker and a former employee of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home. She was a member of St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge. She is survived by two daughters, Sheila Flieger (Ron), of Napan and Nancy Adams (Blain), of Quispamsis; two sons, Bliss MacDonald (Diane), of Miramichi and Darrell MacDonald (Doreen), of Moncton; one sister, Marjorie Lamkey, of Napan; five grandchildren, Natasha (Philippe), Sean (Colleen), Dana (Greg), Nicole (Paul), Tabitha (Jack); eight great grandchildren, Livia, Liam, Reese, Nate, Camden, Aaron, Emma Lynn, Lillian Mae; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold, in 2005; one brother, Byron Fowlie; one brother in law, Donald Lamkey. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Wednesday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Stephen's United Church, on Thursday, September 3rd, 2009, at 1 pm, conducted by Rev. David Cleveland. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
