WRY, SHIRLEY - 1936-2009 - It is with deep sorrow and regret that we announce the passing of Shirley Wry, wife of Fred Sr., at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, September 12th, 2009. Born in Campbellton, NB on October 3rd, 1936 Shirley was the daughter of the late Roy and Violet (Barnes) Parlee. Shirley is survived by her husband of 54 years, Fred Wry Sr.; two loving daughters, Susan Barnes (Danny), Nancy Mazerolle (Rob) both of Moncton; granddaughter, Emily Barnes of Moncton; grandson, Jason (Carole) Gillespie of Saint John, great grandson, Carter Gillespie. Shirley is also survived by her siblings, Joyce McRae of Greenwood, NS, Betty Sweetman of Fredericton, Bob Parlee (Juanita) of Campbellton, Bud Parlee of Moncton and Tory Farquhar of Toronto; her beloved cat, George, and her many nieces and nephews. Prior to her retirement Shirley had been employed with the T. Eaton Company and the NBLCC in Moncton. In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her son, Freddy Jr. and her sister, Charlotte Touchie. At the family's request there will not be any visiting hours. A service of remembrance for Shirley's family and close friends will be held at Wesley Memorial United Church corner of Cameron and St. George Streets Moncton on Wednesday, September 16th at 2 pm followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment will be in Fairhaven Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined however donations in Shirley's memory made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
