STEEVES, PAULA J. - of Halifax, faithful servant of God, died on September 24, 2009, at the age of 82. Born in Moncton, N.B., the daughter of the late Kenneth M. And Clara M. (Keith) Steeves. An active member of Birch Cove Baptist Church she served on the Finance Committee and in other capacities. A life member of United Baptist Women's Missionary Union and served as Vice President and Treasurer of the Eunice Cox W.M.S. She retired from full time employment at 65 and part-time employment at 80. She was the shopper for Halifax West Ecumenical Food Bank since 1993. She was predeceased by her former husband, Gerad F. Steeves; brothers, Francis, Chester, Austin, Vincent and sisters, Mildred and Marguerite. She is survived by brothers, Hubert (Dot) Moncton NB, Leverett (Winnie), Riverview, NB, Three Daughters and their husbands, Rose and Bob Stultz, Inglisville; Karen and William Wilder, New Minas; Janice and Gene Church; Calgary as well as six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A celebration for her life will be held at the Birch Cove Baprist Church on Saterday, September 26th at 2:00pm, Reverand John Wilton officiating. A graveside committal service will be held at the Lower Coverdale Cemetery, NB, at 3pm Sunday September 27th. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the cancer society, diabetic association or a donation of your choice.
