JOEL A. MACCALLUM
MACCALLUM, JOEL A. - Our beloved "Uncle Joel" MacCallum, with his loving family by his side, went to be with his Lord and Saviour at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday, October 1, 2009. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Charles and Lauretta (Harrop) MacCallum. Joel was formerly employed with Co-Op Farm Services and retired from Sears Canada. He was an active and lifelong member of the Moncton Wesleyan Church, singing in the choir for 42 years, Head of Church Maintenance, served as a board member and member of the Beulah Camp Board. Joel will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Bette (Ross); sons, Kevin (Suzel), Alabama and Ross (Nancy), Moncton; daughter, Kenda Wilcox (Peter), Grand Manan; his precious grandchildren, Kevin (Dawn), Kyle, Scott, Jessa, Travis, Josh; brothers, Alex, Malcolm (Marcia), Allan (Kay) and George (Eileen); several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Archie and Neil; sisters, Maryellen, Esther, Lois and Lucy. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Saturday, 7 to 9 pm, Sunday, 2 to 4 pm. Funeral service at the Moncton Wesleyan Church, St. George Blvd., Monday, October 5, 2009, 11:00 am, Pastor LD Buckingham officiating. Reception following the service.
