GAFFNEY, DOROTHY - 1927-2009 - Dorothy Gaffney (nee Gillespie), 81, passed away quietly at her residence, the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home, on Saturday, October 10th, 2009 with members of her family at her side. Dorothy was born in Moncton, NB and attended school there. She worked for many years in the Federal Public Service and most recently attended St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband Edward Gaffney; her son, Ronald Gaffney (Cindy) of Fredericton, and her daughters, Susan Jones (Alan) and Donna Arsenault (Mike), of Moncton; as well as her brothers, Ronald Gillespie (Gerry), and Charles Gillespie (Teresa) of Moncton; two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. There will be no visitation at the family's request. Her funeral service will take place at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Thursday, October 15th, 2009 at 3:00 o'clock, Father Michael Toner officiating. A reception will follow the service in the garden view reception room. In Dorothy's memory a contribution to the Alzheimer's Association or the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home would be appreciated.
