RICHARD, GERALD - 1927 - 2009 Gerald Richard (Gerry Rich) 82, of Foyer Lisa Allain, Bouctouche and formerly of Windsor, On has passed away at the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital, Sainte-Anne de Kent on Thursday October 15th, 2009. Born in Minto on August 7th, 1927 he was the son of the late John and the late Lizianne (Richard) Richard. Gerald, better known as Gerry Rich to his friends and fans, was an entertainer in Country music and an avid fan and impersonator of Hank Snow. He excelled at pool and at card games; you could count on Gerry to spread sunshine in everyone's life around him. He loved people, and yet he was a loner. He worked as a taxi driver in Windsor, ON for numerous years. He will be sadly missed by his two sisters, Irene Saunders (James) of Fredericton, Jeannine Doherty (Léo Thibodeau) of Sainte-Marie de Kent; one brother, Fred Melanson (Shirley) of Toronto and two sisters-in-law, Agnes Richard of Jemseg, Bertha Richard of Minto, and several nephews and nieces. Gerald was predeceased by two brothers, Willie and Edmond. Visitation will be held at the Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l'église, Bouctouche on Friday October 16th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Saturday October 17th from 1 to 2:45 pm at the Minto Funeral Home, 10 King Street, Minto. Funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Minto on Saturday October 17th, 2009 at 3:00 pm. Interment will be in the Saint-Bridget's Roman Catholic Cemetery in Hardwood Ridge, NB. In Memory of Gerry donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
