BASTARACHE, AURELE - Aurele Bastarache of Veteran's Health Center (formerly of La Hetriere) passed away on October 19, 2009 at his residence at the age of 91. Born on September 2, 1918 in St-Marie de Kent, he was the son of the late Jean Bastarache and the late Genevieve Roy. He worked at CN as a Carman until his retirement. He was a veteran of the Second World War and a member of the Legion of Memramcook # 89. He is survived by his wife Aldona (Babineau) Bastarache; two sons, Maurice of Moncton and Noel of Memramcook; one sister, Marguerite Bastarache of St-Catherine; five grandchildren, Jessica, Daniel, Nathalie, Adria and Raymond; two great grandchildren, Rayna and Savanna; one half sister, Marie-Jeanne Melanson of Dieppe and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Pauline; one sister, Marie; and four brothers, Gerard, Alban, Ernee and Abel. Visitations will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook on Tuesday, October 20 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday, October 21 from 1 to 2:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas de Memramcook Roman Catholic Church St. Joseph on Wednesday, October 21 at 3:00 pm. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
