EVANS, RODNEY W. - Rodney "Rod" W. Evans, 72, of Steeves Mountain passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Sunday, October 25, 2009. Born in Boundary Creek, he was the son of Erma (Fillmore) Kierstead of Petitcodiac and the late Herbert Evans. Rod was a former employee with Wallace Warehouse and Cartage Ltd., Moncton with 27 years service and was former owner of AMJ Campbell Van Lines franchise, Moncton. He attended Steeves Mountain Baptist Church and enjoyed working on cars, building mechanical vehicles and equipment. Rod was a friendly and personable man who enjoyed socializing with his friends and spending time with his family. Besides his mother, Rod will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Evelyn (Dryden) Evans; daughters, Kimberly Evans (Peter); Vandra Duff (Bruce), both of Moncton; sons, Stephen (Glenda), Riverview; Scott (Natascha), Moncton; 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Redge Evans, Boundary Creek; Dale Ogilvie, Petitcodiac; sisters, Charlene Northrup (Leonard), Petitcodiac; Marilyn Hoar (Ned), Havelock; several nieces and nephews. Visitation, Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Monday 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday, October 27, 2009, 1:30pm. Rev. Rick Thomas officiating.
