RICHARD, RITA M. - It is with great sadness that the family of Rita M. Richard, announce her passing at the Miramichi Senior Home on November 1st, 2009 at the age of 81 years. She was born in Loggieville, N.B. and was the oldest daughter of the late Morris and Helen (Comeau) Richard. Mom was dearly loved as a wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She took great pride in the family and will be remembered for her kind and loving ways. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Xavier Richard, Loggieville, N.B., three daughters, Betty Anne (Byron) Eastwood, Loggieville, Geraldine (ldal) LaCasse, Granby, Quebec, Helen (Ron) Land, Loggieville; son, Larry (Barb) Richard, Loggieville; foster son, Michael Hallihan, London, Ontario; four sisters, Theresa (Raymond) McGrath, Loggieville, Edna (Ell) Guitard, Miramichi, Anne Diotte, Campbellton, Eleanor (Carl) Bell, Hilton Head, South Carolina; one brother, Norman (Marie) Richard, Mississauga, Ontario; four grandchildren, Terri-Lynn Gallant, Mark Land, Sherry Laforce, Jack Colwill; and five great grandchildren, Devon, Keyzia, Shanelle, Cole and Ethan; sister-in-law, Betty Richard, Kleinburg, Ontario. She was predeceased by one brother, Stanford Richard; foster son, Ricky Hallihan; and infant son Ronald. Visitation will be at Maher's Funeral Home, 35 University Avenue, Miramichi, N.B. on Tuesday, November 3rd from 7 to 9 pm, Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, November 5th at 11 am from St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, Loggieville, N.B. with Rev. Claude Daigle officiating. Interment will follow. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Miramichi Seniors Citizens Home, St. Andrews Cemetery Fund, Loggieville or any charity of donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
