ASHBY, MARIE (ALBERT) CORMIER - 88, of Mason Road, formerly of Leominster, died unexpectedly Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Health Alliance, Leominster Hospital. Mrs. Cormier was born in Ste. Paul, New Brunswick, Canada, July 7, 1921, a daughter of Henri and Leoni (LeBlanc) Albert and resided many years in Leominster with her husband and family before moving to Ashby in 1995. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Desire J. Cormier; four sons and daughters in law, Louis R. and Janis Cormier of Florida, Raymond J. and Nancy Cormier of Leominster, Gerard and Karen Cormier, John J. and Donna Cormier all of Ashby; four daughters, Denise J. Lavoie of Westminster, Norma E. Francis and her husband Keith of Milford, NH, Lucie R. Chisholm of Greenland, NH, Lorraine I. Ruta and her husband Thom of Northhampton; two brothers, Victor and his wife Lena Albert of Leominster, Reverend Alban Albert of Grande Digue, Canada; a sister, Anita Legere of Oklahoma. She also leaves 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Denis Albert of Leominster. She was a communicant of St. John's Church in Townsend and had attended St. Cecilia's Church in Leominster. Mrs. Cormier worked at the Nancy Patch Rest Home in Leominster from 1978 to 1988. During WW II she worked in the airplane manufacturing plant at Fort Williams, Ontario, Canada. She was a devoted wife and mother dedicated to her faith and family. Her passions included reading, journaling, quilting, cooking, flower gardening and traveling. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at St. John's Church, 1 School Street, Townsend. Burial will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster.
