GODFREY, J. AUBREY - 1919-2009 - The death of J. Aubrey Godfrey, husband of the late Frances Godfrey, of The Drew Nursing Home, Sackville and formerly of People's Park Tower and West Lane, Moncton occurred at his residence on Saturday, November 21, 2009. Born in Moncton December 4th, 1919 he was the son of the late John and Ida (Sears) Godfrey. Mr. Godfrey had retired from CNR after many years service. He had attended Mountain View United Church and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch # 6 and Keith Lodge #23 F & AM. Aubrey is survived by two sons Jack (Shirley) of Dartmouth and Bill of Moncton; his grandchildren Sarah, Michael, Georgina, Cindy, Stephen and Shawn; his brother Garnett (Thelma) of PEI; his sisters Muriel Taylor of Moncton, Shirley (Max) Sonnenberg of Albuquerque N.M. and Connie Mackenzie of Winnipeg, Manitoba; he is also survived by six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife Frances; son David; sister Dorothy Godfrey; and daughter in law Marilyn Godfrey. Resting at Cadman Bowness Funeral Home (857-1110) 114 Alma Street Moncton with visiting hours on Thursday, November 26th from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 28th at 11am in Cadman Bowness Funeral Home followed by a reception in the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairhaven Cemetery. Keith Lodge will hold a Masonic service on Thursday at 6:45 in the funeral home and The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Legion Memorial Service on Friday at 3:50 pm at the funeral home. www.cadmanbownessfh.com
