Chesley Warren

80, Coxheath Chesley Maxwell Warren, 80, of Heathview Drive, Coxheath, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late Alphaeus and Rebecca (Russell) Warren. Chesley was a member of St. Albans Anglican Church and in his early years, was very involved with the church. He began his career working beside his father in the boilershop at Sydney Steel and continued working until 1990, when he retired as a safety superintendent. Chesley was a member of the Schooner Curling Club, enjoyed golfing and always looked forward to visits with his sons and their families. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen (Young); sons, Terry (Jennifer), Ottawa, Ont., and Russell (Devon), Ladysmith, B.C.; sister, Kay MacNeil, Sydney; brothers, Bill (Martha) and Lloyd (Evelyn), Sydney, and Bob (Sheila), Dartmouth; grandsons, Joshua and Kyle; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at St. Albans Anglican Church, Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Brenda Drake and Rev. Fred Rhymes officiating. Interment in St. Mark's Cemetery. Following the service, a reception will take place in the church hall. Memorials may be made to St. Albans Memorial Fund or to a charity of one's choice.
