EDWARD JOSEPH (TED) BAILIE
BAILIE, EDWARD JOSEPH (TED) - Edward Joseph (Ted) Bailie, age 88, of Sackville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 29, 2009, at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Berkley, ON, he was a son of the late John and Florence (Richardson) Bailie. He was a veteran of World War II, serving overseas in England, Italy, North Africa and Western Europe. Ted was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the 8th Canadian Hussars. After leaving the Army, he worked with J.L. Black and Sons, leaving to operate his own store in Middle Sackville, then worked for the Sackville Legion, finally working for Indian Affairs in Amherst, retiring in 1986. He will be sadly missed by son, David (Shelly) of Sackville; daughter Jo-Ann (Ronald Richard) Bailie, Sackville, grandchildren, Stephanie (John), Jonathan (Bonnie), Sarah, as well as great grandchildren, Benjamin, Rebecca and Keirsten, and nephew Beverley MacLaughlin, Arizona. He was predeceased by his wife Maxine, son Ronald. The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was also predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) where visiting hours will take place Thursday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 2 pm from the funeral home. Internment will follow in the Four Corners Cemetery at a later date.
