CORMIER, MICHAEL RICHARD (JANUARY 17, 1957 - DECEMBER 8, 2009) - It is with great sadness that we announce that Mike passed away peacefully after a brief and courageous battle with Cancer. He is survived by his son Andrew of Edmonton, mother Celina, brother Jean and sister Lisa of Ottawa, brother Gary of Moncton, and predeceased by his father Joe Cormier of Moncton (1999). Mike was born in Halifax, NS and was raised in Moncton, NB. During his 25 year career with Canada Post he lived in Edmonton, Alta, Ottawa, Ont and Kamloops, BC where he succumbed to his illness. Mike's generous and friendly soul was a quality that stood out. He had a great sense of humour and was always willing to help others. His passions included music, nature, traveling, softball and he enjoyed home projects. An informal Celebration of Life with family and friends took place at Mike's residence in Kamloops. Everyone reminisced about Mike's kind and friendly nature, his love of life and the many close personal ties with work colleagues, friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Mike's name would be greatly appreciated.
