POIRIER, ALBERT J. - 1922 - 2010 - Grande-Digue - Albert J. Poirier, 87, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 5th, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Born in Grande-Digue on January 17, 1922, he was the son of the late Willie and Annie (LeBlanc) Poirier. Albert enjoyed passing time by tinkering and fixing things. He will sadly be missed by his son, Maurice (Anne) of Ste-Anne-de-Kent; his sister, Exilia (Raymond) of Dieppe; two granddaughters, Rachel and Janelle; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Germaine in 2002, five sisters, Béatrice, Marie, Rosanna, Diana, Lina; and two brothers, Amand and Arthur. Visitation will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Thursday, January 7 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be celebrated at La Visitation RC Church in Grande- Digue on Friday, January 8 at 11 am, no visitation before the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Foundation or donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
