HAZEL - AMHERST BACON
BACON, HAZEL - AMHERST, NS - Hazel Bacon 97, passed away suddenly at the Dr. George Dumont Hospital in Moncton, NB, on January 26, 2010. Born in Pugwash she was a daughter of the late Joseph & Maude (Dingle) Sarson. She loved puzzles and was a generous person who will be sadly missed by her family & friends. Hazel is survived by her son, Ronald Halliday (Eileen) of Oregon; daughter Muriel McCallum of Sackville, NB; two step daughters, Carolyn Curry of Amherst and Barbara Curry of Summerside, P.E.I.; two step sons, Royce Bacon (Sharon) of AB; Winston Bacon (Kathy); of ON, sister, Mary Jane VanBuskirk of London, ON; brother in law Raymond Langille, ON; sister-in-law Kathleen Sarson, Pugwash; seven grandchildren, eleven step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband, Clayton M. Halliday and her second husband, Kenneth Bacon; sisters, Dora LeBlanc, Gladys Langille, Muriel Cameron; brothers, Raymond, Lawrence and Clarence; son-in-law, Douglas McCallum. Hazel's remains have been entrusted to the care of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home (70 Church St. Amherst, NS) . Her family will receive visitors on Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 1 to 3 pm at which time the funeral service will be held at 3 pm Rev. Father Kevin Stockall officiating. Burial will take place in the Amherst Cemetery in the Spring.
