NORTH, JOYCE - Joyce North of Kinsman House Moncton passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday February 6, 2010 with her loving family at her side. Born November 4, 1923 in Twillingate, NL, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Bessie (Batstone) Matthews. Prior to her retirement from H and R Block, she was employed with the T. Eaton Co. Joyce enjoyed bowling and a good game of bridge; but her most treasured moments where being around her family and friends. She attended the Glades Baptist Church. Left with loving memories are her daughters; Lenora Calhoun (John) of Georgetown, Ontario Marilyn Colpitts of the Glades, Carol Ritchie (Greg) of Riverview, stepsons; Blaine North (Karen) and Leonard North (Julia) both of Nova Scotia, NS, her grandchildren; Toby, Robert, Julie, Lisa, Stacy, Kelly, Tanya, Rob and Don, her step grandchildren Tracey, Fred, Amy, Lydia and Maria, 13 great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband Harry Carter, second husband Fred North, son Don and son in law Vaughn, a brother Fraser Matthews. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb's Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Tuesday from 6:30 to 9:00. The funeral service will be held from Cobb's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 1:30 with Rev David Evans officiating. The interment will take place at the Glades Cemetery at a later date. Donations may be made to The Glades Baptist church or a charity of your choice.
