ALICE ROACH
ROACH, ALICE - 94, wife of the late Arthur E. Roach, of Moncton, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Westford Nursing Home in Port Elgin where she had been residing. Born April 16, 1915 in Tankville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Celestina (Poirier) Fitzsimmons. She loved going to horse races and playing Bingo. Alice will also be remembered as a vendor of lottery tickets and a frequent caller to radio station contests. She is survived by her son, Frederick Fitzsimmons and his wife Brenda-Ann (Savage) of Fall River, NS; two grandchildren: Shane and Jason; three great- grandchildren: Niall, Zoë, and Sarah as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the last survivor of her immediate family. Besides her husband, she is also predeceased by two sisters: Marjorie Roach and Irene Lowery; eight brothers: Frederick, George, Arthur, Thomas, Ernest, Harold, Russell and Bernard Fitzsimmons. At her request, there will be no visitation. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard's R.C. Church, Moncton, Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 9:30 am. followed by a reception in the hall of the church. Interment will be in Chapel Point Cemetery, Main River, NB. In memory of Alice, a contribution to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
