Parks, Daniel George - It is with sadness the family of Daniel George Parks, of Welsford, announces his passing on February 26, 2010, after a lengthy illness at Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1955 in Saint John he was the son of the late George and Alice (Gillen) Parks. Dan worked as a Chief Officer on the Princess of Acadia for over 25 years. He was an avid reader, animal lover, a great listener and enjoyed playing basketball in his earlier years, listening to rock music and spending family time on Kennebecasis Island. He is survived by his daughter Julie Henderson; granddaughter Danika Duffield; sister Christine Ouellette (Jamie Hutchison); niece Kathryn Ouellette, nephew Phillip Ouellette; friend and former spouse Lore Ralston; faithful companion Bear; and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Monday March 1, 2010 at 7 p.m. The family will receive visitors an hour prior to the service.
