Gray, John Wayne 1947-2010 - Surrounded by his loving daughter, son and granddaughter, the death of John Gray of Lakeside, NB, husband of the late Nancy (Collins) Gray, occurred Thursday, February 25th, 2010, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Murray and Violet (Tait) Gray. Prior to his retirement, John was employed in the construction industry. He was an avoid reader and before his illness, he enjoyed bowling and playing baseball. John loved animals and adored his special canine companions, Boomer, Tao and Peter. Most of all, John loved his family, especially his precious granddaughter, who will always remember her grampy as awesome, playful and loving. John will be sadly missed by his family and will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. John is survived by his daughter, Lisa Gray and his son, Jonathan Gray both of Lakeside; his granddaughter, Emily “Rudi†Gray-Walker; two sisters, Dorothy Snodgrass and Mary Lee (Bobby) both of Saint John; two brothers, William (Carol) of Saint John and Peter (Jean) of Youngs Cove; sister-in-law, Cathy Bordage (Paul) of Saint John; brothers-in-law, Brian and David Collins both of Saint John and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, John was also predeceased by four sisters, Shirley Melanson, Margaret Daigle, Rosilee Kazimere and Madeline Gray; as well as, four brothers, Murray “Redâ€, Allen, David and Ronnie.
At the family’s request, no public visitation will be held. A celebration of John’s life will take place at his home, 12 Templeton Court, Lakeside, on Sunday, February 28th, 2010 from 1-4 PM. Arrangements are entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home, 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, (506) 832-5541.
