DWYER, Gertie (nee Burke) – Passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 25th, 2010 at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Gertie Dwyer of Tilting, Fogo Island, aged 91 years. Predeceased by her husband Bill, brothers Lambert, Cyril, Tom and Lewis and sister Nora Foley. Gertie leaves to mourn her nine children; daughters: Beth McGrath (Pat), Ann Furey (Pearce), Alice Lewis (Maurice), Theresa England (Bill), Nora Sceviour (Bern) and sons: Clem (Lillian), Jim (Joanne), Lambert (Harriett) and Kyran (Anne). Mom Dwyer is lovingly remembered by her 21 grandchildren: Lianne (Lonz), Lisa, Lorna (Ian), Dale (Christa), Darryl (Nancy); Steven (Amanda), Colin; Christopher, Jay (Cristina); Mark (Jodi), Miriam, Clare; Peggy, Steven; Julie; Billy (Jenn), David (Niki); Sarah (Neil), Ashley, Melissa; and Emily; five great-grandchildren: Kyle, Haley, Erica, Carson and Riley, and a large number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Resting at Fogo Island Funeral Home, Fogo Island, NL. Visitation 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27 and Sunday, February 28. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 1 at 10:30 a.m., from St. Patrick’s Church, Tilting. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation may be made in her memory to the Tilting Cemetery Fund.
