It is with profound sadness that the family of David Beaton announce his sudden passing at the age of 54.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Rachelle; his stepchildren, Jennifer and Stephen; his mother, Joan Beaton, Leitches Creek, Cape Breton, N.S.; as well as his special Aunt Clara. Also left to mourn are his siblings, Lorna, Wilson (Anna), Bruce (Berna), Nancy Florian (Michael), Brenda, Susan Maclellan (Rob); nieces and nephews, including, Mackenzie, Steven, Logan, Molly, Benjamin, Jake, Alexandra, Connor, Mary-Michelle, Charlotte, Emma, Nikki and Jonathan. David will also be missed by numerous friends and family from Cape Breton as well as western Canada.
David was predeceased by his father, William Franklin Beaton.
David dedicated 37 years of service to CN Rail in various positions, working in several offices across Canada. Due for retirement this June, David was looking forward to a fresh start in Nelson, B.C., with Rachelle.
David was well known for his kind and generous nature, helping out those whenever he could. David had a great passion for the outdoors and animals, rescuing more than one animal from the SPCA and providing them with a loving home.
A memorial service honouring David’s life will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011-114 St., Edmonton.
A service in Cape Breton for relatives and friends will be held at a later date, yet to be announced.
David, you will always be remembered for your great sense of humour and dedication to family.
