Stella MacDonald, Shore Road, Sydney Mines, died peacefully Monday morning, March 1, 2010, at the Northside General Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late Clem and Mary (McQuaid) McKenna. She was a member of Immaculate Conception parish.
She is survived by her son, Terry (Rena) MacDonald, Bedford; her daughter, Mary (Liam) MacIntyre, Sydney Mines and her grandchildren, Lia, Kathleen, Tara, Genevieve, John and Donnie. Also surviving are her sisters, Annie Mae (Lorne) Higgins and Theresa (Gerald) Barrie and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, John J. MacDonald; her brothers, Peter and Frank; her sister, Mary and infant siblings.
In honouring Stella’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Church, Sydney Mines with Fr. J.J. MacDonald officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Donations in Stella’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
