Margaret Joyce Walker
Amherst – Walker, Margaret Joyce, 66, recently of Amherst, formerly from Sydney Mines Cape Breton, passed away Friday Feb 26th, 2010. Born in Florence Cape Breton on Sept 2, 1943, she was the daughter of Bernard & Blanche MacDougall.
Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister and had many close friends. She is survived by her husband Wayne Walker, her first son Bruce Walker, second son Mike Walker, daughter in law Kim Walker, daughter in law Brenda Walker, four grandchildren Tyler, Nicholas, Kyle and Jake Walker, sisters and brothers from Cape Breton Harry MacDougall, Paul MacDougall, Dianne MacDougall, Judy MacDougall, Valerie MacDougall, Roxanne MacDougall, Russell MacDougall & Bernie MacDougall. Joyce was predeceased by her sister Holly and brother Brian.
Prior to her illness Joyce worked various places within Amherst and was well known in the community, she loved Amherst and the people. She enjoyed so many things in life and she lived life to the fullest, she was a proud grandmother and loved her family very much. Although she is gone she will always be in our hearts, she will be deeply missed.
At Joyce’s request cremation has taken place, no visitation or funeral service. A family gathering will be held at a later date in celebration of Joyce’s life. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s society.
