John Duff Dewar
Passed on: February 24th, 2010
Passed away peacefully at the E.J. McQuigge Lodge on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at age 84 years.
Our Dad was born in Montague, P.E.I. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force and then at Warkworth Penitentiary until his retirement to Brighton, where he became active in the Lions Club for many years. He spent his winters in Florida and enjoyed gardening in the summer in Brighton.
To those who knew and respected him a great deal, he was affectionately known as "Mr. D". He will be missed by his close friends, Jim and Annabelle Montgomery and Ron and Rita Howe.
Remembered by his daughters, Debby (Glen) of Halifax, Barbara (Heather) of St. Catharines, Donna (Terry) of Belleville; and son, John (JoAnn) of Manotick; and granddaughter, Vicki (Chris) of Toronto. Sadly missed as well by his many relatives in P.E.I. Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Pearl Dewar; his brother, Paul Dewar; and sister-in-law, Sybil Dewar.
Thanks to the staff at E.J. McQuigge for their kindness during Dad's stay and special thanks to Loretta.
"We will miss you Dad."
