It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Harvey on Su y, Feb. 28, 2010, at home, with his daughter, Cathy.
Born Feb. 17, 1936, in Port Morien to the late Harvey and Irene (Hall) Wadden. Junior lived on Brookside Street for 34 years after marrying Anna MacDonald, who passed away in 2007. His first wife, Kathleen (Trimm) Judge passed away in November 1993.
He was also predeceased by brothers, Earl 1973 and Murray 1994.
Harvey is survived by only child, Cathy Rasley; two grandsons, Jonathan (Lee), Halifax, and Stephen (Amy), Liverpool; four great-grandchildren, Elisha, Claire, Delano and Harvey; brother, Stanley; and many nieces and nephews.
Harvey was a member of the Army Navy Airforce Club ANAF No. 246 in Glace Bay. He worked as a lighthouse keeper, truck driver, fisherman and in the mines (coal and iron ore) with Devco and in Ontario. After working on the restoration of the Fortress Louisbourg, Harvey spent many years working as a carpenter.
Many thanks to the palliative care doctors and workers and the Glace Bay and Sydney hospital staffs.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. in Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. The funeral Thursday 10 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Church with Fr. Conrad Edwards officiating. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Harvey’s memory may be made to the cancer society or gratefully accepted by the family.
