MARY KARMARZNUK

Karmarznuk, Mary (nee Arabsky)
April 22, 1916- February 26, 2010
It is with sadness and yet a sense of peace that her family announce the passing of Mary Karmarznuk on Feb 26, 2010 at the age of 93. Mary was born in Sheho, Saskatchewan, the second child of eleven children. As a young woman she moved to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan where she married Steve and they built a comfortable family home for many years. Her passions in life were raising her two children, active involvement with the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church and Ladies Aid Association, gardening, and a talented seamstress. Mary loved to laugh and was always ready with a helping hand and a bit of advice thrown in for good measure. We admired her strength, determination, independence and generosity. Mary loved and was loved and treasured by many and her spirit lives on in our hearts. She was predeceased by her parents Pearl and Steve, sister Olga, brothers Nicolas, Matt, Bill, Mike, John and Alex. Mary is survived by her daughters: Barb Karmarznuk and Joanne (Matt Roach), granddaughter Kelsey Roach of Calgary, Alberta, brothers Nick (Marie) and Pete (Tillie) of Vancouver BC, Maurice (Dianne) and sister-in-law Nancy of Saskatoon, Sask., numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Dr. Addison for his caring support to Mary and to her family. Thank you to the Bow Crest Nursing Home second floor staff and caregivers for their compassionate care, and to Father Timothy Chrapko – St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church for his spiritual guidance and prayers. If friends so desire memorial tributes may be made directly to the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, c/o Father David Edwards, 725 9th Avenue S.W., Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan S6H 5H2 (306-692-7582 or email pmdavid@gmail.com). A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements in care of Parkview Funeral Chapel Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
