Jane Foster of New Maryland, NB, died on Monday, March 1st, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 15th, 1958 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Merlin and Bertha Jane (Huntington) Koenecke, and wife to Dan Foster.
She is survived by her husband, Dan; her children, Danny, Jack and Amy Foster of Fredericton, NB, and was predeceased by her parents and her brother, James of Baton Rouge, LA. Jane lived in a number of cities in the US and Canada, but she found a home in Fredericton and Wilmot United Church.
Jane had her Masters in Linguistics and was proud to have taught at Louisiana State University. Also, she was an accomplished CAD drafter, but she much preferred the craftsmanship of pencil and paper. She loved to read and write and had a sharp sense of humor. Everyone looked forward to receiving one of her letters. Jane was most proud of having raised her kids.
Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Friday, March 5th, 2010 from 2-4 pm. A memorial service will be held at Wilmot United Church on Saturday, March 6th, 2010 at 11:00 am with Rev. Murray McFarlane officiating. Interment will be in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery Extension at a later date in the spring.
