Ellis Francis Small, 62, of White Head passed away unexpectedly at the Grand Manan Hospital on Tuesday afternoon, March 2nd, 2010. He was the son of the late Carl and Nancy (Mitchell) Small of White Head, Grand Manan. Ellis spent his life doing what he loved, fishing with his dad and later with his nephew Ralston aboard the “LITTLE BEAVER”. He was an avid hunter and an ATV enthusiast and he will always be remembered for his good natured teasing, his story telling as well as his joyful laughter and sense of humor. He is survived by his wife Thelma Mary (Chamberlain) Small of White Head; one daughter Myrna (Kevin) McCoy of Saint John; two sons Howard (Rebecca) Small of North Head, Donald (Grace) Small of Saint John; three grandchildren Haley McCoy, Joshua and Cadence Small; one sister-in-law Karen Dunham; nephews Jamie and Ralston Small; niece Julie Duncan as well as several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; one son Clyde; and one brother Judson.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the White Head Baptist Church on Thursday, March 4th, 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm, from where the funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:15 pm with Pastor Jim Appleby officiating. The interment will follow in the family plot of the White Head Community Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
