Robert (Bob) William Buchanan, of Saint John, NB, passed away on March 04, 2010. Born in Newcastle, NB on November 2, 1929, he was a son of the late Ira and Edna (MacDonald) Buchanan. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marjorie (Ellis) Buchanan, daughters Marion (Michael) Coady, Halifax, N.S., and Carol (Jeffrey) Parks, St. Stephen, N.B., grandchildren Katharine, Mitchell and Duncan Coady, Dalton and Morgan Parks. He is also survived by his sisters Maude Steen, Tabusintac, N.B., Donna Armstrong, Bakersfield, California, brother Donald (Betty Giles) Buchanan, Covedell, N.B., brother-in-law Gordon (Norma) Ellis, Bathurst, N.B. and several nieces and nephews. He was retired from J.D. Irving Ltd. where he had worked as an internal auditor. He was a member of St. Mark’s United Church and had served as an elder. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge Saint John No. 27.
Arrangements are entrusted to Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, N.B. with visitation on Friday, March 05, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from St. Mark’s United Church, on Saturday, March 06, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital - Palliative Care Unit; Hospice Greater Saint John or a charity of the donor’s choice.
